Abstract:In order to research the clinical significance of detection of estrogen and progestogen receptor,proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 in breast cancer,the estradiol receptor(ER) and the progesterone receptor(PR) w...In order to research the clinical significance of detection of estrogen and progestogen receptor,proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 in breast cancer,the estradiol receptor(ER) and the progesterone receptor(PR) were detected on 137 sections from cases of breast cancer tissues by enzyme linked immunosorbent histochemistry assay,the expression of proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 was determined simultaneously by immunohistochemical method.The results showed that among 137 breast cancer cases,the ER(+)the PR(+);the ER(-)the PR(-);the ER(+)the PR(-);and the ER(-)the PR(+) were 66;42;16 and 13 cases respectively.The positive rates of the c-erbB-2 in breast cancer of the ER,the PR positive and negative were 22.0%,20.3%,70.9% and 70.7%,respectively.After 24 months following up,the recurrence rates of ER/PR(+) and ER/PR(-) were 4% and 13% respectively.The recurrence rates in c-erbB-2 positive and negative were 14% and 2.5% respectively(P0 05).The findings suggest that there is a negative correlation between the expression of the proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 and the levels of ER and PR.Tumors of hormone-receptor-positive and tumors of c-erbB-2-expression-negative have a better prognosis.Read More
