Abstract:Objective:To reveal the hormone level and the expression of ER,PR and c erbB 2 gene protein in breast cancer and their clinical significance Methods:We had detected hormone levels and expression of ER...Objective:To reveal the hormone level and the expression of ER,PR and c erbB 2 gene protein in breast cancer and their clinical significance Methods:We had detected hormone levels and expression of ER,PR and c erbB 2 in 82 cases of breast cancer and 68 cases of benign breast disease,using radioimmunologic method for assaying the hormone levels and using immunohistochemistric techniques (ABC method) for detecting the expression of ER,PR and c erbB 2 Results:The estrogen level in breast cancer was siginficantly higher tnan in benign disease.We found the significant relationship between estrogen level and lymph node status.ER and PR negatively correlated with clinical TNM stages,but c erbB 2 positively correlated with them.In postoperative five years cancer free cases of breast cancer the estrogen level was lower than recuring or death cases.Conclusions:For breast cancer,the high hormone levels and positive expression of c erbB 2 might serve as indicators for poor prognosis,but ER and PR positive expression were indicators for well prognosis.Read More
