Methods The clinical data of 1 008 cases with breast cancer were retrospectively analysed. The relationship between the expression of ER, PR and c-erbB-2 in breast cancer tissues and the prognostic factors such as menopausal status, axillary lymph nodes metastasis and TNM stage was investigated. Results The mean presentation age of the 1 008 cases was (53.53±12.60) years. Invasive ductal cancer was the most common pathological type (80.5%). Postmenopausal ER-positive cases were significantly more than premenopausal ER-positive ones, and the clinical stage was lower (P0.05).There was no significant difference between the ER/PR-positive cases and ER/PR-negative ones regardless of menopausal status. PR-negative and ER/PR-negative cases were closely correlated with axillary lymph node metastasis(P0.05). The positive expression of c-erbB-2 in PR-negative or ER/PR-negative cases was significantly higher than that in PR-positive or ER/PR-positive ones (P0.05). ConclusionER, PR and c-erbB-2 play an important role in modulating the biological behavior of breast cancer. The expression of ER and PR are associated with menopausal status, axillary lymph node metastasis, tumor clinical stage and c-erbB-2 expression.Read More
