Methods We divided the experimental rats into two groups at random: non-diabetic contrast rats and STZ-induced diabetic mellitus rats.Experimental diabetes mellitus(DM) was induced in rats with streptozotocin(STZ).After finishing the model, the rats were killed to get kidney and blood samples in the 4th,8th,12th week respectively.Serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen were measured through chemical colorimetric method. An immunohistochemistry were performed to detect the expression level of NF-κBp65 in renal tissue.Aanalyze the correlation among NF-κB expression, urine protein, and renal function. Results Blood glucose serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, expressions of NF-κBp65 in diabetic rats were significantly higher than those of normal rats. Conclusions NF-κBp65 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic rat and the number of positive expressing NF-κBp65 cells may be considered as a predictor of progressive renal injury in diabetic rat.Read More
