Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and significance of hypoxia inducible factor 1 alpha(HIF-1 alpha) in experimental diabetic nephropathy.Methods Diabetes mellitus was induced in male Wister rats...Objective To investigate the expression and significance of hypoxia inducible factor 1 alpha(HIF-1 alpha) in experimental diabetic nephropathy.Methods Diabetes mellitus was induced in male Wister rats by an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(60mg/kg).The serum biochemical parameters in rats were measured by automatic chemistry analyzer.The expression of HIF-1α protein was examined by Western blot and immunohistochemistry.Results In the model group,the serum BUN was significantly higher than that of control group,creatinine clearance(Ccr) was significantly lower than that of control group.The expression of HIF-1α protein was significantly higher than control group.Conclusion The expression of HIF-1α protein is upregulated in diabetic nephropathy.HIF-1α protein is a promising new therapeutic target for treating diabetic nephropathy.Read More
