Abstract:Objective To investigate the significance of HER2 oncogene overexpression in infilitrating ductal breast carcinoma.Methods One hundred cases of infilitrating ductal breast cancer preoperatively withou...Objective To investigate the significance of HER2 oncogene overexpression in infilitrating ductal breast carcinoma.Methods One hundred cases of infilitrating ductal breast cancer preoperatively without actinotheraphy and chemotherapy were observed under light microscope by HE staining technique and examined the expressions of HER2,estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) by immunohistochemical technique.Results The positive rate of HER2 protein expression in breast carcinoma was 67%(67/100).It was positively correlated to the size of tumor and the lymphatic metastasis(P0.05).According to TNM stages,the positive rates of HER2 protein expression in 1,2,3 stages were 48.57%(17/35), 70.73%(29/41) and(87.50%)(21/24),respectively.It was positively correlated to the clinical stage(P0.05).The positive rate of ER and PR protein expression in breast carcinoma was 59%(59/100)and 47%(47/100),respectively,and they were negatively related to the clinical stage(P0.05),but not related to the tumor size(P0.05).The expression of ER was significantly correlated to the expression of PR(P0.001).The expression of HER2 was correlated to the expression of ER(P0.05).Conclusion [WT5B1]HER2 oncogene protein overexpression is usually occurred in breast carcinoma and has correlationship to estrogen receptor.It plays an important role in the development of infilitrating ductal breast cancer.Read More
