Methods A total of 82 patients w ...Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of butylphthalide soft capsules and donepezil hydrochloride on the elderly patients w ith mild cognitive impairment( MCI). Methods A total of 82 patients w ith MCl w ere divided into treatment group and control group,control group( n = 41) w as given donepezil hydrochloride and treatment group( n = 41) w as given additionally butylphthalide soft capsules. The Mini-Mental State Examination( MMSE) and P300 w ere used for the assessment of cognitive function before and after treatment and the adverse effects w ere also recorded. Results The total response rate of control group w as 75. 61%,w hile the treatment group w as 90. 24% The MMSE of the tw o groups w as significantly improved after treatment,and there w as significant difference betw een the tw o groups( P 0. 05). The P300 amplitude of patients in tw o groups had risen and the incubation period had shortened after treatment. Changes in the treatment group w ere significantly greater than those in the control group( P 0. 05).Conclusion Butyiphthalide soft capsules and donepezil hydrochloride can prominently improve the cognitive function and the activity in the brain of patients w ith mild cognitive impairment w ith good security and tolerability,and the effect is better than donepezil hydrochloride.Read More
