Methods From July 2007 to August 2009,43 cases who diagnosed as breast cancer were admitted to the Second Miner Hospital of Huainan Xinhua Medical Group. The expression of CD24 and estrogen receptor were detected by immunohistochemistry mothod in 43 cases of breast cancer specimens, furthermore, detected results were submitted to correlation analysis. Results The positive rate of estrogen receptor were 69.8% in breast cancer tissues, and the rates of (+),(++),(+++) were 32.6%,20.9% and 16.3%. The positive rates CD24 were 74.4% in breast cancer tissues with the rates of (+),(++) and (+++) being 32.6%,23.3% and 18.6%. The statistical significance was observed in breast cancer tissues with CD24 being expressed differently in the tissues with the estrogen receptor expressed differently. The expression of CD24 enhanced with expression intensity of estrogen receptor in breast cancer tissues(χ2=23.258,P=0.001). Conclusions There are positive correlation between the expression of CD24 and estrogen receptor in breast cancer tissues, and the CD24 expression increased with the estrogen receptor expression. Additionally, the combination detection of CD24 and estrogen receptor should be helpful in evaluation of cancer prognosis.Read More
