Methods The surgery was performed on 38 eyes of 38 patients with senile traumatic cataract. Results Postoperatively, the visual accuracy (with spherical correction or without correction)were 0.5 or better in 27 eyes(71.7%) at the first week and at the third month in 36 eyes(94.7%),The mean astigmatism was 1.850.95 D at the first week and 0.920.58 D at the third month, which were respectively less than that in the control group with a 10 ̄12mm large incision(P0.001).The rate of corneal endothelial cell loss was 11.72%.Meanwhile,the selection of surgical techniques and management of operative complications were discussed. Conclusion Cataract extraction with small incision and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation is practical.Read More
