Abstract:Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of cataract extraction with small incision(6mm)and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation.Methods The surgery was performed on 334eyes of 334 pat...Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of cataract extraction with small incision(6mm)and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation.Methods The surgery was performed on 334eyes of 334 patients with senile traumatic cataract.Results postoperatively,the visual accuracy(with spherical correction or without correction)were 0.5 or better in 238 eyes(71.2%)at the first week and at the third month in 316 eyes(94.6%),the mean astigmatism was 1.86±0.95D at the first week and 0.93±0.58D ta the third month,which were respectively less than that in the control group with a 10~12mm large incision(P0.001).Meanwhile,the selection of surgical techniques and management of operative complications were discussed.Conclusion cataract extraction with small incision and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation is practical.Read More
