Abstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of cataract extraction through small incision combined with IOL implantation.Methods The visual acuity and corneal refractivity of 254 eyes(196 patient...Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of cataract extraction through small incision combined with IOL implantation.Methods The visual acuity and corneal refractivity of 254 eyes(196 patients)undergone conventional extracapsular extraction or cataract extraction through small incision and phacoemulsification were examined and compared in postoperative period.Results Small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation provided patients with rapid visual rehabilitiation,less surgically induced astigmatism,and almost the same results as that in phacoemulsification group( P 0 05) Corneal refractivity in small incision cataract extraction group was significantly less ( P 0 01) and visual acuity was much better ( P 0 01) than that in large incision group.Conclusion The cataract extraction through small incision is a more effective and economical method in cataract surgery.Read More
