Title: Expression and clinical significance of PCNA C-erbB-2 and nm-23-H1 in breast cancer tissues
Abstract: To investigate the expressions of PCNA C-erbB-2 and nm-23-H1 in breast cancer tissue and their relationships with pathology feature, clinic stage, lymph node metastasis, histologi-cal grade, tumor size. Methods The SP immunohistochemical staining method were adopted to examine the expressions of PCNA C-erbB-2 and nm-23-H1 protein in 76 samples of breast cancer tissues. Results Positive expressions of PCNA and C-erbB-2 protein in breast cancer tissues were positive relationships with tumor histological grade, the number of lymph node metastasis, and clinic stage, P 0.005, but not with axillary pathology feature, not tumor size. Positive expressions of nm23-H1 in breast cancer tissues were negative with lymph node metastasis, tumor size, clinic stage, but not to pathology feature, histological grade. PCNA was positively related with C-erbB-2, P 0. 01. C-erbB-2 was negatively related with nm23-H1,P 0. 01. Conclusions The expressions of PCNA C-erbB-2 and nm-23-H1 are important markers to estimate the biology action and prognosis of breast cancer.
