Abstract: Objective To investigate the restoring effect of acupuncture at lower He-sea points on post-cholelithotomy gastrointestinal dysfunction. Methods A stratified sampling method was used.Forty post-cholelithotomy patients were randomly allocated to two groups,20 cases each. The treatment group received postoperative routine management plus acupuncture at lower He-sea points corresponding to the stomach, large intestine, small intestine and gallbladder and the control group, postoperative routine management only. Results The time to recover gastrointestinal function was shorter in the treatment group and there was a statistically significant difference compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture at lower He-sea points can shorten the usual course of treatment for gastrointestinal dysfunction in post-cholelithotomy patients.
