Title: Clinical Observation on Recovery of Postoperative Gastrointestinal Function Treating by Chinese Medicine to the Umbilicus and Acupuncture Therapy
Abstract: Objective:to observe the effects of conventional western medicine therapy plus Chinese Medicine to the Umbilicus and acupuncture therapy to the recovery of post abdominal operative gastrointestinal function.Methods:to divide 100 post-operative patients with abdominal surgery into two groups each of which include 50 patients.The control group is treated by conventional western medicine therapy while the observation group is treated by conventional western medicine therapy plus Chinese Medicine to the Umbilicus and acupuncture therapy.Then observe the differences in needed time for restoration of bowel sound and exhalation of anus of the two groups.Results:the average time for restoration of bowel sound of the observation group and the control group is(8.5 ± 3.1) h and(18.7 ± 8.2) h respectively.This showed significance of difference(P 0.01) ;the average time for exhalation of anus of the observation group and the control group is(30.8 ± 12.4) h and(66.5 ±19.6) h respectively which also show significance of difference(P 0.01).Conclusion:Chinese Medicine to the Umbilicus and acupuncture therapy can effectively promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdominal operation.
