Title: DIFFUSION-WEIGHTED IMAGING: ITS VALUE IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF HYPERACUTE CEREBRAL INFARCTION
Abstract: Objective To study the value of diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI) in the diagnosis of hyperacute cerebral infarction(HCI).Methods Data of DWI in 32 patients with HCI was analyzed. Results All the patients showed high DWI and low ADC signals, the detection rate being 100%.In three patients with past history of infarction,MRI showed merely old foci, while DWI revealed new lesions in addition to the old ones. The whole direction diffusion showed clearer infarct lesions than that of single direction diffusion did. Conclusion DWI provides a better way in the diagnosis of hyperacute cerebral infarction.
