Title: Clinical application of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) to acute cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective To explore clinical role of DWI in acute cerebral infarction. Methods Sixty-five patients suspect for acute cerebral infarction underwent DWI and DWI images were compared to diagnosis upon leaving the hospital. Results Within 6 h after onset,sensitivity of DWI,CT and routine MRI was 98%,33%,and 57% respectively.DWI is far superior to any other means. Conclusion DWI is able to play a principal role in excluding possibility of new onset of cerebral infarction.
