Title: A Primary Study of DWI in Acute Cerebral Infarction
Abstract: Objective To explore the parameters of the diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) in the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction. Methods DW EPI was performed in 80 patients with cerebral infarction, including 11 cases of super acute stage, 27 cases of acute stage, and 42 cases of subacute stage. Results In all the above stages, 100% of lesions were detected in DWI. But with T2WI, 0% of super acute lesions, 55% of acute lesions and 100% of subacute lesions were detected. The all direction of diffusion had showed the infarct lesions more clearly than that of singe direction of diffusion. The higher b value, the better effect of diffusion, and the more clearly infarct lesion could be showed. The effect of DWI with a matrix of 128×128 was better than that with a matrix of 128×64. The degree of geometry transformation of DWI with a field of 24×18 centimeter was the same as that with a field of 36×18 centimeter. Conclusion DWI is a good way in diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction. Direction of diffusion, b value and matrix are the most important factors of imaging.
