Title: Protective effect of Shenmai injection against myocardial ischemia injury induced by isoproterenol in rats
Abstract: [Objective] To study the protective effect of Shenmai injection(SMI) against myocardial ischemia injury induced by isoproterenol in rats. [Methods] A rat model of myocardial ischemia was established by subcutaneous injections of isoproterenol(85 mg/kg for two consecutive days). The rat electrocardiogram(ECG) was recorded, the changes of hemodynamics, echocardiography and myocardial histopathology were also observed. Activities of creatine phosphokinase(CK), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), the superoxide diSMIutase(SOD) and the levels of malondialdehyde(MDA) in rat serum were determined, heart index were measured simultaneously. [Results] In comparison with model group, SMI could inhibit the elevation in ST-segment. The hemodynamic parameters, left ventricular function and myocardial ischemic injury were visibly improved. The levels of CK, LDH and MDA activities and the heart index were significantly decreased. The level of SOD activity was obviously increased(P0.05 or P0.01). [Conclusion] SMI has some protective effects against myocardial ischemia injury induced by isoproterenol in rats.
