Title: EXPRESSIONS OF COX-2,ER AND PR IN BREAST CARCINOMA AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE
Abstract: Objective To analyze the expressions of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2),estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) in breast cancer, and their relationship with clinical pathology and survival. Methods Immunohistochemistry and tissue array technique were used to detect the expressions of protein of COX-2,ER and PR in tissue of 96 patients with breast cancer and expression of COX-2 in tissue of 25 patients with adenosis of breast. Results Positive expression rate of COX-2 in cancer tissue was obviously higher than that in adenosis of breast(χ2=24.84,P0.01).The positive expression of COX-2 in the cancer tissue was positively correlated with lymph node metastasis(χ2=7.85,P0.01) and negatively correlated with positive expression of ER or PR(χ2=4.60,5.65;P0.05).In cancer tissue, the positive expressions between ER and PR showed highly direct correlation.Positive expression of PR was significantly associated with the patients' survival(OR=0.74,P0.05). Conclusion COX-2 is related with the prognosis of patients with breast cancer, and COX-2 and PR are key factors for prediction of its prognosis.
