Methods: The bone mineral density in the second to fourth lumber and the proximal left femur were measured with the dual energy X BMD measuring instrument. The indicators mentioned above were compared between two groups. Results: The change of bone mineral density in the patients with type 2 diabetes was negatively correlated to the levels of blood glucose and HbA1c and positively correlated to pancreatic B cell function, weight, height and body mass. Conclusion: The incidence of osteoporosis is significantly higher in diabetes group than in control group. Lower weight is one of the risk factors resulting in fractures. Therefore, the patients with type 2 diabetes should strictly control their blood glucose levels and regularly detect their bone mineral densities so as to prevent the occurrence of osteoporosis and reduce the risk of fractures.Read More
