Abstract:Objective To investigate the change of bone mineral density(BMD) in the patients with type 2 diabetes and its correlated factors.Methods Total of 53 patients with type 2 diabetes(observed group) and 4...Objective To investigate the change of bone mineral density(BMD) in the patients with type 2 diabetes and its correlated factors.Methods Total of 53 patients with type 2 diabetes(observed group) and 40 healthy people(control group) were enrolled in this study.The BMD in the second to fourth lumber was evaluated in the two groups with the dual-energy X BMD measuring instrument.The relationships between the changes of BMD and the age,body mass index,gender,glycated hemoglobin were observed in observed group.Results The observed was significantly lower in observed group than that of the control group(P0.05);The BMD in patients with type 2 diabetes was correlated negatively to the age,glycated hemoglobin,years since menopause,but positively to the body mass index(all P0.05).Conclusions The BMD decreases in patients with type 2 diabetes to a certain degree,especially in female and the lower BMI diabetic patients.To the patients with type 2 diabetes,the blood glucose level should be controlled and the BMD should be detected regularly.Read More
