Abstract:Objective To study the relationship of the changes of bone mineral density(BMD) with type 2 diabetes in male.Methods Bone mineral density was measured with dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA)in 54 ...Objective To study the relationship of the changes of bone mineral density(BMD) with type 2 diabetes in male.Methods Bone mineral density was measured with dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA)in 54 men with diabetic and controlled with 54 cases.Results The incidences of osteoporosis in diabetes and control were 31.5% and 13.0%,respectively(P0.05).Conclusion Male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were liable to develop osteoporosis.Reduction of BMD was associated with age,course of disease,body mass index and glycosylated hemoglobin.Read More
