There were 135 cases in smoking group and 120 in non-smoking group. Their pulmonary function such as FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, MMEF, MEF75, MEF50, MEF25, and PEF were detected. Results The indicants such as FEV1, FEV1/FVC, MMEF, PEF, and MEF50 which reflected pulmonary function in the smoking group had significantly decreased compared with the non-smoking group. And the indexes of FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, MMEF, MEF75, MEF50, MEF25, and PEF in the smoking group had significantly decreased compared with the non-smoking group. The difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusion Although smoking patients do not show clinical symptoms, their pulmonary functions have been reduced. The alteration of pulmonary function of smoking patients, especially long-term ones, are affected by smoking, and their pulmonary functions decrease significantly and quickly.Read More
