Title: Early diagnosis value of low-field MR diffusion weighted imaging on diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective To explore the low-field(0.2T) MR DWI's value for the diagnosis of acute infarction in the early stage. Methods Forty-nine patients with cerebral infarction (8 super acute, 16 acute, 25 sub acute) were imaged with both conventional MRI T1WI, T2WI and DWI. Results Super acute, acute, sub acute infarction all showed hyperintensity on DWI 8 super acute cerebral infarctions were only depicted on DWI but not on conventional MRI. Sixteen patients with acute cerebral infarction all cases had abnormal signal in DWI, while only 10 cases showed abnormal in T2WI. Conclusions DWI has higher sensitivity for acute especially super acute cerebral infarction than conventional MRI, T2WI and DWI can be used to identify the stages of lesion.
