Title: THE COMBINED USE OF N(4-NITROPHENYL)-BENZAMIDINE AND BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION AFTER WHOLE-BODY IRRADIATION OF RATS

The survival rate in the control group was 8%; it was 40% for that group where the animals were treated with bone marrow oniy, 52% for the chemically protected rats, and 72% for the combined treated animals. The weight changes show that the synergism of both methods is a result of a decreased radiation sensitivity of the organism by chemical radiation protection substance and a stimulation of bone marrow regeneration by the transplantation.
