Title: Comment on Outpatient Pediatric Prescriptions in Our Hospital
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To probe into the status quo of the utilization of prescription drugs in outpatient pediatric patients in our hospital so as to promote rational and standard use of prescription drugs.METHODS:A total of 7699 pediatric outpatient prescriptions sampled from Jan.to Dec.in 2009(prescriptions in two days each month were sampled) were analyzed statistically using the indexes in Prescription Evaluation Form.RESULTS:Of the total 7699 prescriptions reviewed,5424(70.51%) prescribed injections and 6303(81.87%) prescribed antibiotics.CONCLUSION:The percentage of injections and antibiotics prescribed in pediatric outpatient department were on the high side.It is urgent to tighten control by taking intervention measures such as prescription evaluation in order to promote standard and rational drug use,especially in the rational use of antibiotics.
