Title: Detrusor dysfunction in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia
Abstract: Objective To study the detrusor dysfunction in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods Urodynamic data of 300 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia was analyzed. Results The mean detrusor pressure was (59.24±37.87) cmH 2O,the mean bladder compliance (BC) was (25.6±4.93) ml/cm H 2O,the BC in 132 patients was smaller than 30,and in 83 patients bigger than 40.There were 52 patients with detrusor instability, and 36 patients with detrusor underactivity. There was correlation between DI or BOO and BOO (P0.05).Conclusion Urodynamic examination reveals detrusor dysfunction in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, and it can determine the cause of difficulty in voiding, and is important in the diagnosis and the selection of the treatment for the patients.
