Title: The clinical study on detrusor dysfunction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia
Abstract: Objective: To explore the detrusor dysfunction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods: 230 patients suffered from prostatic hyperplasia were detected the dynamics of urine, including filling cystonetry, pressure and flow rate. Results: The mean detrusor pressure was about (58.2±33.8)cmH2O and the mean bladder compliance (BC) was ( 25.6±3.4)ml/ cmH2O. The BC in 132 patients was smaller than in 30, while in 95 bigger than in 40. Detrusor instability existed in 72 patients, and detrusor underactivity in 53. There was correlation between DI or BOO and BOO (P0.05). Conclusions: Urodynamic examination reveals detrusor dysfunction in patients suffering benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can determine the cause of dysuresia, which is important for the diagnosis and the treatment for prostatic hyperplasia.
