Title: Expression of Apoptosis Inhibitor Survivin in Laryngeal Carcinoma Cells and Clinical Significance of Expressed Product
Abstract: Objective To explore the expression of apoptosis inhibitor surviving,an apoptosis inhibitor,in laryngeal carcinoma cells and the clinical significance of expressed product. Methods Detect the expression of survivin in 54 tissue sections of laryngeal carcinoma speciens,by immunohistochemical methed using 10 specimens from the patients with polyp of vocal cord as control. Results No survivin was detected in polyp of vocal cord. However,it was detected in 38 of 54(70.4%)specimens from the patients with laryngeal carcinoma. The survivin expression was unrelated to the ages and sexes of patients or the sizes of tumors( P 0.05 ),but positively related to the clinical stages, histological grades and lymphatic metastasis of the tumor. Conclusion The apoptosis inhibition caused by the abnormal expression of survivin was related to the onset and progression of laryngeal carcinoma. So the expression of survivin may be used as a new index for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of laryngeal carcinoma.
