Methods We used the avidinbiotin immuno preoxidase technique to examine the immunostaining of E cadherin, α catenin, β catenin and γ catenin in 81 cases of TCC and 10 normal bladder biopsies. Results The degree of E cadherin γ catenin complex expression showed a positive correlation with the pathologic grade ( P 0 05). The expression of E cadherin, α catenin and γ catenin also showed a positive correlation with the clinical stage of the carcinoma. Moreover, the abnormally high expression of γ catenin as well as E cadherin was corelated with poor survival ( P 0 05). Conclusion E cadherin γ catenin complex may be used as a prognostic marker in transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder.Read More
