Title: The relationship between micro lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis in gastric carcinoma
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the formation and the distribution characteristics of the micro lymphatic vessels in the stomach cancer and discuss the pathological relationship between lymphatic node metastasis and micro lymphangiogenesis.Methods:40 cases of gastric cancer tissues were selected ,including 20 cases of lymph node metastasis as metastasis group and 20 cases without lymph node metastasis as non-metastasis group as well as.15 cases of benign gastric ulcer lesions as control group.Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression level of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3. Then Podoplanin was marked in micro lymphatic endothelial cells in order to count lymphatic micro-vessel density and watch the distribution characteristics of the lymphatic microvessel density in metastasis and non-metastasis groups as compared with the control group. Results:The LMVD in gastric cancer groups was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).The LMVD in metastasis group was significantly higher than that in non-metastasis group(P0.05).The LMVD in gastric cancer groups had no relationship with gender and ages. The expression of VEGF-C was significantly higher in gastric cancer groups than that in zhe control group(P0.05).There was significantly difference in the expression of VEGF-C between metastasis group and non-metastasis group(P0.05).There was significantly high relationship between the expressions of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3.There was significantly difference in the expression of VEGFR-3 between metastasis group and non-metastasis group(P0.05).Conclusion:The high expression of VEGF-C in the gastric cancer can promote micro lymphangiogenesis. The increase in micro-lymphatic vessels can also enhance the expression of VEGF-C.The above two have positive correlation to each other. The increase of micro-lymphangiogenesis promotes lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer.
