Title: Expression of Tip60 protein in colorectal cancer tissue and its clinical significance
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expression of Tip60protein in colorectal cancer tissue and its clinical significance.METHODS:Immunohistochemical technique was adopted to detect the protein expression level of Tip60protein in 100cases of colorectal cancer,adjacent tumor tissues(3cm off the tumer region),and 20colorectal adenoma tissues,meanwhile the relationship between the expression of Tip60and the expression of Ki-67,Bcl-2protein were analyzed.RESULTS:The positive rate of Tip60in colorectal cancers was 24%(24/100)and in adjacent tumor tissues and in adenoma tissues the positive rate were 72%(72/100),75%(15/20).The positive rate of Tip60in colorectal cancer was significantly lower than that of adjacent tumor tissues(χ2=46.154,P0.001)and adenoma tissues(χ2=19.761,P0.001).The expression of Tip60was of no statistical difference in adjacent tumor tissues and colorectal adenoma tissues(χ2=0.075,P=0.781).No significant correlations were observed between the expression of Tip60in colorectal cancer and patient gender(χ2=1.629,P=0.202),age(χ2=1.170,P=0.279),depth of tumor invasion(χ2=3.102,P=0.078),or lymph node metastasis(χ2=0.718,P=0.397).Tip60down-regulation showed significant correlation with larger tumor size(χ2=14.649,P0.001),poorly differentiated type(χ2=6.469,P=0.039)and higher Duke's stage(χ2=4.702,P=0.030).Tip60protein expression in colorectal cancer was negatively correlated with Ki-67(r=-0.273,P=0.006)and Bcl-2protein expression in colorectal cancer(r=-0.216,P=0.031).Logistic regression analysis showed that the tumor size was independent correlation factor of Tip60expression in colorectal cancer tissues(B=-1.833,P0.001).CONCLUSION:These results suggest that Tip60is more frequently down-regulated in advanced colorectal carcinoma,Tip60may serve as a new parameter for the prognostic prediction of colorectal cancer.
