Title: Expression and significance of BAG-1 and CDK4 in the colorectal cancer
Abstract: Objective:To explore the expressions of BAG-1 and CDK4 protein in colorectal cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological features of colorectal cancer. Methods:BAG-1 and CDK4 protein were detected in 80 cases of colorectal cancer,40 cases of colorectal adenomas and 25 cases of adjacent normal colorectal tissues by immunohistochem istry SP method. Results:The overexpression of BAG-1 and CDK4 in colorectal cancer were 80.0% (64/80) and 65.0% (52/80) respectively,BAG-1 and CDK4 were inversely proportional to the degree of tumor differentiation. The positive rates of BAG-1 and CDK4 were 96.7% (29/30) and 83.3% (25/30) in lymph node metastasis of colorectal cancer, and were 70.0% (35/50) and 54.0% (27/50) in no lymph node metastasis of colorectal cancer, they showed significant difference (P0.01). CDK4 protein expression in serosal invasion was significantly higher than those less than serosal layer, the positive rates were 35.3% (12/34) and 71.4% (40/56) respectively, they were statistically significant (P0.01). Conclusion:The overexpression of BAG-1 and CDK4 shows a good correlation with tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis. The overexpression of CDK4 is closely related with the depth of invasion. Abnormality of many genes in the regulatory pathway of BAG-1 and CDK4 may be involved in the molecular mechanism of colorectal carcinogenesis.
