Title: Expression of p27~(kipl) and MMP-9 in Colorectal Carcinoma and Their Correlation
Abstract: Objective:To Study the significance of expressions of p27~kipl and MMP-9 and correlation between them in colorectal carcinoma. Methods:The expressions of p27~kipl and MMP-9 in 216 colorectal carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry, and then the correlation between them was analyzed. Results:The positive p27~kipl expression rate was 76.9%(166/216), while low expression rate was 65.3%(141/216).Of 73 colorectal carcinoma, p27~kipl expression was positive both in nuclear and cytoplasm. The positive MMP-9 expression rate was 76.9%(166/216), while high expression rate was 65.3%(141/216). p27~kipl and MMP-9 expressions had significant correlation with differentiation extent,Dukes′ staging, survival period, lymph-node metastasis and distant metastasis(P0.05).Conclusions:Down-expression of p27~kipl and over-expression of MMP-9 may play a key role in the development of colorectal carcinoma. The detection of p27~kipl and MMP-9 expressions could be an indicator to judge the invasion, metastasis and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
