Title: Study on Fermentation Conditions for Chitinase Production of Serratia marcescens
Abstract: Objective:Fermentation conditions of production chitinase by Serratia marcescens were optimized in order that the chitinase activity was increased substantially.Method:Take the laboratory-preserved Serratia marcescens S418 as test strain, the optimal submerged fermentation conditions of chitinase production for the strain S418 were investigated by single factor test and L9(34) orthogonal test.Result:show that the optimal conditions for producing chitinase were as follows:temperature of 28℃,pH 7.0,6 % inoculum amount,0.05% KH2PO4,1 % peptone as the nitrogen source and 0.2g/L colloidal chitin as the carbon source. After cultivating for 72 hours, the highest chitinase activity is 5.49U/mL.Conclusion:The optimal conditions for chitinase production by Serratia marcescens S418 were determined.
