Title: Influence of high power microwave on cultured myocardial cells
Abstract: Objective:To study the damage mechanism of myocardial cells irradiated by HPM, and to observe the injury and changes in intracellular calcium concentration of myocardial cells. Methods:Myocardial cells were irradiated by HPM at power density 950?mW/cm 2, then loaded with fluo_3/AM fluorescence stain. The[Ca 2+ ]i was examined by laser scanning confocal microscope(LSCM). Cellular necrosis and apoptosis were examined by flow cytometer. Results:Myocardial cell necrosis and apoptosis were found, and [Ca 2+ ]i was decreased significantly ( P 0.01)in myocardial cells irradiated by HPM.Conclusions:The results inferred that HPM could injure myocardial cell membrane, decrease [Ca 2+ ]i and induce the death of myocardial cells.
