Title: Expression and clinical significance of Cox-2,nm23 and MMP-3 in small cell carcinoma of rectum
Abstract: Objective To investigate the correlation between expression of Cox-2,nm23 and MMP-3 in small cell carcinoma of the rectum and clinicopathological characteristics. Methods The expression levels of Cox-2,nm23,MMP-3 in 63 cases of small cell carcinoma of rectum were detected by immunohistochemistry and tissue microarray technology. Results The positive expression rates of Cox-2,and MMP-3 were correlated to mesenteric lymph node metastasis and depth of tumor invasion, with the increase of infiltration depth of tumor, lymph node metastasis rate was increased( P 0. 05). The positive expression rates of Cox-2 and MMP-3 were not correlated to TNM staging( P 0. 05). However positive expression of nm23 protein was related with mesenteric lymph node metastasis and TNM staging( P 0. 05),with lymph node metastasis and increase of TNM stage, which was decreased( P 0. 05),however,which was not related to infiltration depth of tumor( P 0. 05). The expression levels of Cox-2,nm23,MMP-3 were not correlated to patient's age and sex( P 0. 05). Conclusion The expression levels of Nm23,Cox-2 and MMP-3 in small cell carcinoma of rectum are closely related to clinical prognosis, and combined detection can predict the malignant degree of tumor and can evaluate patient's prognosis.
