Title: Relationship and expression of VEGF,CD44v6 and MMP-2 in breast carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To observe the expression of VEGF,CD44v6 and MMP-2 in invasive breast carcinoma, and to explore the correlation among them. Methods The expressions of VEGF,CD44v6 and MMP-2 were detected in 92 cases of invasive breast carcinoma by SP immunohistochemistry, and were compared with those of normal tissues(control group) .Results The positive expression rates of VEGF in control group and breast carcinoma group were 6.7%(3/45) ,90.2%(83/92) respectively, furthermore the positive expression rate(53/55) of VEGF in lymph node metastasis tissue was significantly higher than that of the tissue without lymph node metastasis(P0.05) .The positive expression rates of CD44v6 in normal breast tissue and breast carcinoma were 8.9%(4/45) ,85.9%(79/92) respectively, furthermore, the positive expression rate(51/55) of CD44v6 in lymph node metastasis tissue was significantly higher than that of the tissue without lymph node metastasis(P0.05) .The positive expression rates of MMP-2 protein in normal breast tissue and breast carcinoma were 4.4%(2/45) ,87.0%(80/92) respectively, and the positive rate(52/55) of MMP-2 in lymph node metastasis tissue was significantly higher than that of the tissue without lymph node metastasis(P0.05) .The expression of VEGF was positively related with that of CD44v6 and MMP-2(P0.05) .Conclusion VEGF,CD44v6 and MMP-2 are highly expressed in breast carcinoma, which are related with lymph node metastasis, and these factors may have synergistic effect in the lymph node metastasis of breast carcinoma.
