Title: Expression and significance of VEGF,MMP-9 and TIMP-2 in OSCC
Abstract: Objective: To study the relationship between the expressions of VEGF,MMP-9 and TIMP-2 and clinic-pathologic factors as well as the clinical significance. Methods: The expression of VEGF,MMP-9 and TIMP-2 in 50 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma were detected by Envision immunohistochemical technique and the relationship between the expression and the clinical factors of oral squamous cell carcinoma was analyzed. Results: The expression rate of VEGF in oral squamous cell carcinoma was correlated with the lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The expression rate was higher in the positive lymph node metastasis group than that of the negative lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The expression rate of MMP-9 in oral squamous cell carcinoma was correlated with the clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The expression rate was higher in the higher clinical stage(P0.05) and in the positive lymph node metastasis group than that of the higher clinical stage and the negative lymph node metastasis group(P0.05).The expression rate of TIMP-2 in oral squamous cell carcinoma was correlated with the T-category of tumor, the clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P0.05).With the higher of the clinical stage, the expression rate became lower. The expression rate was lower in the higher T-category and the positive lymph node metastasis group than that of the lower T-category and the negative lymph node metastasis group(P0.05).Conclusion: The results indicated that the positive rate of VEGF,MMP-9 and TIMP-2 protein in oral squamous cell carcinoma were significantly associated with lymph node metastasis. The results incluced that the positive rate of MMP-9 and TIMP-2 protein were significantly correlated with tumor processes in OSCC.
