Abstract:Objective:To study on the correlation between PSA and PCNA expression in prostatic carcinoma(Pca) and benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) and their clinical significance.Methods:The expression of PSA an...Objective:To study on the correlation between PSA and PCNA expression in prostatic carcinoma(Pca) and benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) and their clinical significance.Methods:The expression of PSA and PCNA in 76 cases of prostatic carcinoma and 40 cases of BPH were detected by immunohistochemiscal LDP method.Results:①Expression of prostate specific antigen(PSA) in most of Pca was noted being down regulated(62/76),while the expression in BPH tissue upregulated,the difference was significant(P(0.01)).With the increase of pathological grade and clinical staging,PSA expression in the carcinoma tissue declined(P(0.01)).The difference between PSA expression and serum-PSA level was not significant statistically(P(0.05)).②The expression of PCNA in carcinoma tissue was significantly higher than that in the BPH tissue,the difference was significant(P(0.01)).The expression of PCNA increased with the increase of pathological grade and clinical staging(P(0.01)).There was a significant difference in survival rates between PCNA hight expression(grade Ⅲ,Ⅳ) group and low expression(grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ) group(P(0.05)).③There was a significantly negative correlation between PSA and PCNA expression in carcinoma(P(0.01)).Conclusions:The expression of PSA and PCNA is related to the development and progression of prostatic carcinoma.The detection of these two tumor markers is helpful for the assessment of malignancy degree,the biological behavior and the prognosis of carcinoma.Read More
