Title: Expression and significance of insulin-like growth factor-I receptor( IGF-IR)and proliferating cell nuclear antigen( PCNA) in the breast cancer tissue
Abstract: Objective: To detect the expression of IGF-IR and PCNA in breast cancer tissue, and to analyze the significance of IGF-IR and PCNA in the occurrence and development of breast cancer. Methods: 94 cases of patients with breast cancer were selected, the expression of IGF-IR and PCNA in breast cancer tissue and tissue adjacent to carcinoma were detected and its correlation with tumor biological characteristics were analyzed. Results: In breast cancer tissue, the positive cases of IGF-IR were 80 cases, the positive rate was85. 11%,the positive cases in the tissue adjacent to carcinoma were 40 cases, the positive rate was 42. 55%,the positive rate in breast cancer tissue was significantly higher in tissue adjacent to carcinoma, the comparative difference was statistically significant( χ2= 35. 04,P 0. 05). In breast cancer tissue, the positive cases of PCNA were 70 cases, the positive rate was 74. 47%,the positive cases in the tissue adjacent to carcinoma were 31 cases, the positive rate was 32. 98%,the positive rate in breast cancer tissue was significantly higher in tissue adjacent to carcinoma, the comparative difference was statistically significant( χ2= 30. 89,P 0. 05). The positive rate among different histological types of the IGF-IR and PCNA were no difference( P 0. 05). With TNM staging, the positive rate of IGF-IR was gradually reduced( χ2= 0. 20,P 0. 20),the positive rate of PCNA increased( χ2= 12. 11,P 0. 05). Conclusion: The high expression of IGF-IR and PCNA are the important molecular markers of the breast cancer occurrence, development process, and they may have synergy. The expression degree of PCNA can be used as one of the indicators of the breast cancer cell proliferation activity and malignant degree.
