Title: Effect of Health Promoting School Framework on Students′ Nutrition and Health Knowledge,Attitude
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the impact of health promoting school framework to students′ nutrition and health knowledge, attitude.To provide experience and scientific basis for school nutrition intervention. Methods Applying stratified random sampling method, 16 schools in the cities of Jinan and Guangzhou were selected and divided into intervention schools and control schools,with 8 in each .The nutrition intervention was implemented in the intervention schools, not in the control schools, according to the 6 sections of the health promoting school framework .A questionnaire survey of the nutrition knowledge and attitude was conducted among the students selected by random sampling in the intervention and control schools before and after the intervention . Results Most variables, except 4 variables related to suitable drinks for children, were of significant differences after the intervention in the intervention schools(P0.01). And only few variables were significantly improved in the control .The change of the variables in the control was not as significant as that in the intervention . Conclusion The health promoting school framework is an effective approach to improvement of the children nutrition and health knowledge, attitude .
