Title: Logistic Regression Analysis of Recurrence and Metastasis Following Radical Operation in Colorectal Cancer at Dukes C Stage
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinicopathologic factors related with recurrence and metastasis following radical operation in colorectal cancer at Dukes C stage. Methods The clinicopathologic factors and follow-up data of 235 cases of colorectal cancers after surgical treatment were analyzed using logistic regression models. Results Single and multiple factors analysis showed that lymph node metastasis and histological differentiation significantly associated with recurrence and metastasis. But age, gender, course of disease, tumor location, gross findings, histological type, tumor size and depth of bowel wall invasion were not related with recurrence and metastasis. Conclusion Lymph node metastases(number or site) and histological differentiation were the most important independent factors for recurrence and metastasis. They may be useful for prognosis and making the postoperative treatment and follow-up program for patients at Dukes C stage.
