Title: The Prpgress about the Relationship Between PPARs and Atherosclerosis
Abstract: The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors(PPARs) are a class of ligand-activated nuclear transcription factors that belong to the members of the nuclear receptor superfamily.PPARs can regulate target genes expression by binding to sequence-specific PPAR response elements(peroxisome proliferator responsive element,PPRE) in the promoter regions of target genes. There are PPARs expression in vasculature and myocyte.PPARs participate in a lot of pathological processes, including the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism, inflammation, cell apoptosis,SMC proliferation and migration, which run through the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis. The article will summarize the research advance about the relationship between PPARs and atherosclerosis.
