Title: Role of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors in pulmonary fibrosis
Abstract: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligand-activated nuclear transcription factors.PPARs are extensively involved in the metabolism of fat formation, glucose homeostasis, cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Many studies have demonstrated that PPARs play an important regulatory role in the process of liver and renal fibrosis. This paper summarizes the role of PPARs in pulmonary fibrosis formation mechanism.
