Title: The effects of Leifengning Decoction on IL-1 and TNF-a levels of rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis
Abstract: Objective To observe the effects of Leifengning Decoction on pathomorphological changes and levels of IL-1 and TNF-a of rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis. Methods 40 rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, treatment group with low dose Leifengning Decoction, treatment group with high dose Leifengning Decoction and positive control group.Except the blank control group, other groups were set as complete Freund's adjuvant arthritis models to observe the effects of Leifengning Decoction on pathomorphological changes and levels of IL-1 and TNF-a.Results Leifengning Decoction was effective in reducing the damages of toe synovium, bones and cartilage tissue of rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis.Comparing with model group,in treatment groups gray values of INF-a and IL-1 expression increased markedly and optical density value decreased evidently.Differences showed statistical significances(P0.05).Conclusion Leifengning Decoction could reduce the expression of IL-1 and TNF-a of rats with adjuvant-induced arthritis and showed the treatment effects in relieving inflammatory reactions and improving functions of joints. These data offered the basis of clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
