Title: Evaluation on the emergency intervention effect in primary and middle school students in Yanbian.
Abstract: [Objective] To evaluate long-term and short-term effect of the emergency interventions in primary and middle school students, so as to provide basis for improving the security conscious of primary and middle school students, preventing and controlling the injuries for them. [Methods] 2, 358 students from five primary and middle schools in Yanbian were selected by baseline sampling. Knowledge and attitude about emergency, self-security attitude and health behavioral changes as well as the status of injures at the time of one week and half a year before and after intervention were evaluated. [Results] Injury knowledge of students at the time of one week after intervention was significantly higher than that at the time of half a year after intervention (F = 64.30, P = 0.000; F = 465.02, P = 0.000; F = 914.37, P = 0.000). The knowledge of middle school students at the time of half a year after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention; The opposite response rate of the necessarity of emergency intervention education increased from 48.7% before intervention to 93.8% after intervention (χ2 = 6.44, P﹤0.05). The behaviors of playing with fire between junior and senior middle school students both significantly re- duced (χ2 = 6.59, P = 0.010; χ2 = 6.59, P = 0.010), while checking food expiration between junior middle school students and washing hands before meals between senior middle school students both significantly improved as well (χ2 = 19.67, P = 0.000; χ2 = 40.58, P = 0.000). [Conclusion] Emergency intervention could effectively decrease the injury for primary school students, improve the conscious of emergency security education, and play a role in improving the health related behaviors; We should give persistent and characteristic emergency health education for primary and middle school students.
