Title: STUDIES ON MANOEUVRABILITY STANDARDS FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF MARINE PILOTS
Abstract: Recently, ships with extremely poor manoeuvrability have been increasing. The Japanese Pilots' Association has collected and offered the necessary information on such ships and has investigated into the allowable limits in ship manoeuvrability from the viewpoint of a pilot. In order to grasp the manoeuvrabilities of the ships, a kind of course changing test is proposed. The procedure is so simple that a pilot can easily do it in actual pilotage service. The manoeuvring difficulties could then be located.
