Abstract: An advanced ship control system was created to achieve greater manoeuvrability under severe environmental conditions. The basic concept is described in this paper. The manoeuvring characteristics were examined using a ship model, and the effectiveness of the control system was confirmed for various cruising modes. This control algorithm can also be applied to a ships with various types and numbers of actuators.
