In this...In this paper, the authors present an approach for image analysis in autonomous navigation systems which is designed to reduce the amount of data to be analyzed for describing the environment. In this method, the observed environment in the image is analyzed with traditional resolution but by processing only selected pixels in the image. This requires no image segmentation, reduces the amount of data to be processed, and simplifies the image analysis. A comparison of the results from image analysis using standard analysis and adaptive analysis are presented.Read More
